The Regional Office for Near East and North Africa (RNE) delivers an improved, integrated and collaborative business model to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, consistency, innovation, agility and responsiveness in logistical, operational, financial and other support services at all levels to accelerate the achievement of the Organization’s programme in the region and ensure compliance with the Internal Control Framework.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent will report to National Professional Officer (Administration).
Technical Focus
Possession of good knowledge on the safety procedures, technical soundness and ensuring comfort of the vehicle(s) assigned.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Drive office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items;
• Meets official personnel at the airport at all times;
• Be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles; check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., perform minor repairs and arranging for other repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean;.
• Log official trips, daily mileage, petrol consumption, oil changes, greasing etc;.
• Assist the administrative staff in regular monitoring of the log books and maintenance records;
• Ensure that the steps required by the Rules and Regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident;
• Collect and deliver mail, documents, pouches, and other communications / items from and to the Regional office; go to the post office, airport, government agencies, other UN agencies, institutions, project sites, etc., to take and deliver items and communications; keep records as required;
• Deliver documents to the embassies (relevant to visas), custom office, Traffic Department, Immigration Department and any other entities / institutions as deemed necessary,
• Perform related duties as required.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• High school diploma
• Possession of valid driver’s license.
• 3 years of relevant driving experience with knowledge of car maintenance and emergency repairs. Flawless, safe driving record.
• Working knowledge (proficient - level C) of Arabic
• National or resident of the country with valid work permit.

• Good knowledge of the local driving rules and regulations;
• Skills in minor vehicle repair.

• Experience in UN or multinational organizations is preferred
Selection Criteria
• Limited knowledge (intermediate - level B) of English language would be considered as an asset
