Organizational Setting
FAO Representation in Indonesia is relocating its Representative Office to premises provided by the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), located at Center for Food Crop Agriculture Assembly and Modernization, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. To ensure the safety and security of FAO personnel, assets and premises, the FAO Representation requires the services of a qualified Security Guard. The position will provide on-site security services and ensure compliance with FAO security standards and applicable UNDSS recommendations.
Reporting Lines
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative and in coordination with the Assistant FAO Representative (Administration).
Technical Focus
Provision of reliable and effective security services to safeguard FAO personnel, visitors, assets and premises. The role focuses on access control, monitoring of security systems, emergency preparedness and response, and compliance with FAO and UNDSS security standards.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Provide security services for all programme assets and personnel in the FAO Representation.
• Check all bags and packages that enter and exit the FAO Representation Office.
• Maintain a register for all members of the staff and endorse time in and out.
• Record all visitors entering and exiting the office in the logbook.
• Identify visitors and assist them to fill the visitor form, direct the visitor or escort the visitor to the designated staff.
• Maintain a dispatch / receiving mail book, record correctly all incoming and outgoing equipment.
• Report immediately to the Agency Security Focal Point of any breach of security.
• Ensure all the security devices (emergency exit sign, fire extinguisher, metal detector, hydrant and alarm lights) work all the time by coordinating and reporting Information and Technology Assistant.
• Coordinate with Information and Technology Assistant to ensure the CCTV and electronic attendance machine work well.
• Ensure minimum first aid kits (medicine, bandages and stretcher) are available and work well
• Ensure emergency evacuation plan are being understand by all personnel
• Directing the staff to find the emergency exit door or assembly area when emergency situations occur.
• Manage the keys for the office and ensure that they are kept in a safe place.
• Follow up with any recommendations made by UNDSS regarding the security of the office.
• Ensure all doors are locked before leaving the post at 19.00 pm and opening them in the morning at 07.00 am.
Minimum Requirements
• Minimum a completed high school diploma.
• At least five (5) years of progressive experience in security services.
• Working knowledge of English and fluency in Bahasa Indonesia.
• National of Indonesia
Technical Competencies and Experience Requirements
• Training in fire prevention and use of various fire extinguishers.
• Basic training in self-defence and emergency response (including fire, earthquake and other emergency situations).
• Basic first aid certification.
• Knowledge of physical security systems, alarm systems and emergency generators.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with assigned guard duties.
• Physically fit and not dependent on alcohol or prohibited substances; any prescribed medication must not hinder performance of duties.
• Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively and demonstrate reliability, professionalism and sound judgment.
• Ability to take prompt and appropriate action during emergency situations.
