The Shared Services Centre (SSC) recommends and administers process management and procedures that need to be executed effectively; ensures the management of quality assurance activities associated with the transactional processes and implementation of service delivery; continuously improves the satisfaction of its customers, internal or external, while pursuing a continuous improvement agenda that will drive up service excellence while driving down the costs of service delivery through process standardization, process automation and self-service capabilities.

The post is located in the Finance Unit of the FAO Shared Services Centre (SSC) in Budapest, Hungary.

Reporting Lines

The Team Coordinator reports to the senior Finance Officer (Head of Finance Unit) in the SSC.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the activities of an operational team in the area of banking, accounts payable, assets, bank reconciliation, and any other team defined in the Finance Unit.
• Ensure the delivery of results within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and effective responses to clients for optimal service.
• Create and maintain Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) in the area of accounts payable.
• Support transition activities, including knowledge transfer, and stabilization support for newly onboarded countries in the I2P process.
• Develop and coordinate a training plan aligned with the I2P Vertical Integration roadmap, including onboarding schedules, training materials, and progress tracking, in collaboration with the Project Manager and SSC leadership.
• Exchange and/or provide information to internal and external partners (banks, donors and other partners) and provides information/clarification to auditors.
• Monitor the work of the team and reviews reports on performance.
• Prepare, analyse and evaluate information from financial records and provides relevant inputs for operational improvement.
• Provide support to projects assigned by SSC Management and the Finance Officer; monitor and report on progress to management.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives where possible and undertakes requirements gathering activities in the assigned area of work for eventual process improvement in collaboration with Decentralized Offices and the Finance Division.
• Participate in the development of training and related training materials and promotes best practices and capacity development at headquarters and in Decentralized Offices.
• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Advanced university degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in business or public administration or any other discipline relevant to the work of the Organization. Consultants with bachelor's degree need two additional years of relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in people management, administration, accounting and/or audit, budget or finance;
• Working knowledge (proficient - level C) of English and limited knowledge of another FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish).

Technical/Functional Skills

• Extent and relevance of experience in procurement, finance, business analysis, banking and/or accounting as well as payment processing and/or reconciliation or supplier banking records masterfile maintenance.
• Extent and relevance of knowledge and experience in analysing and evaluating financial reports and/or experience in International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
• Knowledge of standard financial operational rules and procedures in a large scale organization, and knowledge of administrative management procedures of projects and programmes is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and database, or knowledge of other financial modules or applications relevant to finance operation is considered an asset.
• Experience in a shared services or business support centre is highly desirable.
